Chaliot and Chunbi
Most formal aspects of the
syllabus begin with the commands
chaliot (=attention) and chunbi (=ready), at which the student should
adopt the stances shown below:
Feet are together, arms held vertically at the sides of the body with hands
aligned vertically also.
Feet are `hip-distance' apart (about 20-30cm for most people), the arms are
`rounded' with the hands held as fists almost touching each other
directly in front of the torso.
