Kierkegaard

Probably it's his work on Kierkegaard that's best known, and he's written several other books about this amazing and mind-blowing writer, including Kierkegaard's Upbuilding Discourses and "Poor Paris!".He is also a member of the translating team working on the first complete English translation of Kierkegaard's Journals and Notebooks
Why should anyone devote so many years of their life to this "singular" author who didn't want followers and expressed scorn for academic commentators?
