1st week - Friday 6th May - Games

LR2 - 8pm

We'd like to play a little game or two...

2nd Week - Friday 13th May - Wide Games

Manor Road by St Catz - 7:30pm sharp

An evening of outdoor games, weather permitting, in some leafy glade not far from the dreaming spires. What's not to like?

2nd Week - Saturday 14th May - Punt Practice

From Magdalen Bridge - 1pm

"he went out boating on the Brandywine River; and he and his wife were drownded,"

Practise your punting skills with us, so you don't end up like poor old Drogo! If people can book out college punts and bring them along, that would be much appreciated.

3rd Week - Friday 20th May - Dancing

Bayne Room - 8pm

After the distinct lack of anyone falling over at the Banquet (in relation to dancing), we're going to add to our repertoire of country and other dances.

4th Week - Friday 27th May - Craft Evening

LR2 - 8pm

Come and make things - felt finger puppets and knitting are definitely on the cards (as is the wool being turned into thread).

4th Week - Saturday 28th May - Strawberry Party

Master's Garden - 2pm onwards

Strawberries, Pimms, and Croquet abound in the annual Tolkien Society Strawberry Party. An afternoon of merry-making and strawberries.

5th Week - Friday 3rd June - Golfimbul

Carfax - 5:45pm

"He charged the ranks of the goblins of Mount Gram in the Battle of the Green Fields, and knocked their king Golfimbul's head clean off with a wooden club. It sailed a hundred yards through the air and went down a rabbit hole, and in this way the battle was won and the game of Golf invented at the same moment."

This evening we'll be honouring this epic moment in Middle-Earth's sporting history with - likely as not - much hilarity and silliness. And maybe a little golf... but probably just something resembling a generic ball-game.

6th Week - Friday 10th June - Dramatic Readings in the Gardens

Christchurch Gardens - 7pm

Enjoy the late evenings summer brings by sharing your favourite passages of Tolkien's works with others in the beautiful setting of an Oxford garden

6th Week - Saturday 11th June - Port Meadow Walk

Enjoy the beauty of Oxford in the summer sun, with the opportunity to take photos.

7th Week - Friday 17th June - Members' Talks

LR2 - 8pm

An evening where we will be diverted, amused and informed by various members' eloquent discourses upon a range of topics, some of which promise to be Miruvor-related.

8th Week - Friday 24th June - Drogo Memorial Punt Party

Magdalen Bridge (TBC) - 6pm

Commemorate Drogo by being drownded as we go punting on this most inauspicious of dates.
