Tom Kemp: University of Oxford
I am an Emeritus Research Fellow of St John’s College. In September 2009, after 37 years, I retired as Lecturer in the Zoology Department and Curator of the Zoological Collections in the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, although I remain a member of Faculty, and am continuing to give my Palaeobiology course to the Biological Sciences Honour School .
My research interests are in vertebrate palaeontology, and in particular the origin and evolution of mammals. I am also interested more widely in the evolutionary processes and ecological circumstances by which major new taxa evolve, and am currently writing a book on the subject for Oxford University Press/Chicago University Press.
