Tomonari Tanaka is an Assistant Professor at Kyoto Institute of Technology, Japan. He received his Ph.D. in 2009 from Tohoku University under the supervision of Professor Shin-ichiro Shoda. He spent his postdoctoral period until March 2010 at Tohoku University as a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) research fellow, and joined the Department of Biobased Materials Science, Kyoto Institute of Technology in April 2010 as an Assistant Professor. He also joined Ben Davis Group from June 2015 for 1 year as an academic visitor. His research interests are glycotechnology, synthetic chemistry, and polymer chemistry.
