Excitation Monitor

The excitation monitor will measure the intensity of the exciting light, be it from the fluorescence lamp or the scanned laser beam.

Excitation Level - Shows the recorded level.
Corrected for - Indicates whether the value has been corrected for a excitation wavelength range (from the fluorescence cube or filter set).
See also Minimum exposure time below.

Settings: ADVANCED USERS ONLY
A/D Bias
- Set according to hardware.
Post-trigger delay - adjust so that the reading is taken when the shutter is open.
Time req for ADC conv - Time required for ADC conversion should always be around 60 ms and is hardware dependant.
Gain - Some units have different gain settings.
Minimum exposure time - The hardware requires a certain amount of time to take a readeing, if the camera exposure (fluorescence shutter open time) is less than a certain time, the excitation value recorded mauy be incorrect. This value is reflected on the main panel.
Acquire - Make a reading.
Live - Make live continuous readings.
