Learn to row at CORC

  • Men and women aged over 18 years

CORC organizes several courses throughout the year for anyone who would like to learn to row.

The courses are designed to provide beginners with the opportunity to experience rowing and to learn enough to join in with competitive or social rowing at the club afterwards. Each course runs for six weeks and consists of 12 sessions with professional coaching. Typically, these consist of 6 river sessions on a weekend morning between 10am and 1pm, 5 sessions on a weekday evening (arranged to suit the group and availability of facilities) either on the river or at the indoor rowing tank, and a swimming test and a capsize drill in a heated indoor pool. The courses cost £80, payable on the first day.

At the end of the course you will also be advised about options for joining the club - how the club works and how to get the most out of rowing - and also have an opportunity to meet members of previous beginners' groups to share some first-hand experiences!

    Contact John Hill if interested.

  • Juniors aged 10 to 18 years

Juniors with no previous experience of rowing can start learning to row at CORC at any time.
