Juniors aged 8 to 18 years old are taught to scull on Hinksey Lake by a team of fully-qualified ARA coaches led by Ian Smith (registered Amateur Rowing Association Silver Coach), and graduate to the river once they have achieved an appropriate level of proficiency.  In total, the Junior Squad on the two sites amounts to about 100 children ranging in age from J8 to J18.

The Junior Squad has scored some notable successes in recent Regattas, including 2 Gold, 3 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals. The details are listed along with the rest of the Club's results for the season.

City of Oxford RC was recently awarded a substantial grant by Project Oarsome, a flagship project of the ARA's National Junior Rowing Programme designed to attract schoolchildren into rowing. This has been used to establish formal links between CORC and local schools, and to provide equipment suitable for junior rowers. Each school now has rowing ergometers installed for instruction and training on land and new equipment, including 2 quads sculls, 2 double sculls, 4 single sculls,16 pairs of blades and a trailer, has been installed at the City Boathouse specifically for use by Juniors. The new boats were named after local participating schools during a ceremony held at the City Boathouse on 12th July 2000.
