CORC's scratch regatta is traditionally held on May Bank Holiday Monday. Open to all comers, the crews are drawn at random irrespective of ability or experience. Racing is over 200m sprint course finishing just outside the boathouse, with the finish line marked by water-filled balloons suspended from Donnington Bridge. The first crew to burst its balloon progresses to the next round. Needless to say, balloons are not the only source of water to watch out for ....
