Teaching
I have recently lectured on Catullus, Seneca, Roman
Elegy, Cicero the Orator, Ancient Literary Criticism (Aristotle's Poetics and
Tacitus' Dialogus), Texts & Contexts, the language of Petronius, as well as given seminars
and classes on Latin palaeography and Latin textual criticism, on the Roman
narrative of decline, and on Horace's Ars Poetica.
Recent Master theses supervised by me were on
Empedocles, Republican and Augustan poetry, Roman oratory, the intersection
between rhetorical theory and practice, Seneca, Pseudo-Platonica, and
Neo-Platonism.
I am currently supervising doctoral theses on Varro,
Cicero, Lucretius, and Manilius.
