General Interests and Activities

General fitness:              Despite the difficulties in participating in team sports as a researcher, I am a keen cyclist (especially off road) and enjoy walking, running and weight training at a local gym.

Travel:             I have travelled extensively in Europe and North America, with the occasional forage into Southeast Asia. I have a special sentiment for France and Switzerland and have spent much time in both.

Societies:              I am currently a member of the Biochemistry Research Staff Committee. This was set up in order to both increase the social interactions within the department and deal with general problems that research staff may experience. Part of my responsibilities have involved organising an Induction Day for new staff.

Photography:              I am a keen photographer with particular interests in nature photography; more recently I have developed an interest in video filming.
