Admissions Report: 2nd BA and Visiting Students 2002

We had increased the quota for 2nd BA and Visiting Students from last year (when we took no 2nd BAs and two Visiting Students) in line with the general expansion of the College. The intention was to take two 2nd BAs and four Visiting Students this year, with a view to increasing the number of Visiting Students up to seven in future years. In the end, we have offered places to three 2nd BAs (including one Rhodes Scholar) and four Visiting Students (including one on the Columbia Programme).

2nd BA:

Applications: 8 1st choice, 13 2nd/lower choice; 10 M, 11 F.

Seven of these arrived after we had filled our quota and were not considered. Of the remaining fourteen, seven were considered worthy of a place and two offers were made (2 F).

[2001 – nine applications, although that figure was unusually low; no offers].

Megha Aggarwal (St Stephen’s College, Delhi) Economics and Management

We were asked to take two Rhodes Scholars (2 M), but having already offered places to two 2nd BAs we only agreed to take one (M).

Twelve of these arrived after we had filled our quota and were not considered. Of the remaining thirty-three, eighteen were considered worthy of a place and three offers were made (3 M).
