Database of Classical Bibliography

Description: The Database of Classical Bibliography, vol. 1, contains twelve volumes of L'année Philologique (vols. 47-58), covering 1976-1987, and comes with sophisticated retrieval software. Searching can be performed through eighteen indexes, one being a full text index for subject searching in all languages, including Greek and an index of modern languages. In addition to traditional Boolean searching within and between indexes, the DCB offers range searching, a choice of output formats and facilities for copying, downloading, printing and revisiting results. A further facility, integrating indexes from the TLG's Canon of Greek Authors and Works, permits searching by Greek genre, Greek geographical origin and ancient date. The DCB is updated each year, with 3-5 volumes of the APh. added. An international edition, with commands and help files in English, French and German, should also be available in 1997.

Requirements: PC running Windows 3.1 or above, with CD-ROM drive. Apple Macintosh running System 7.0 or above, with CD-ROM drive.
