International FilmArchive CD-ROM

Description: This CD-ROM allows access to the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF)'s film and television periodical indexing project. An initial disc covers the years 1982 to 1996, with over 140,000 annotated entries; this is to be expanded to include entries from 1972 to 1982. The database is constantly growing and is updated in the Spring and Autumn of each year.

Entries come from more than 200 of the most important film and television journals. In-depth indexing is carried out by archivists and film experts and checked by editors for consistency and accuracy. Entries may be searched through seven main categories: General Subjects, Individual Films and TV Programmes, Biography, Directors, Authors, Periodicals and Free Text Search.

Requirements: IBM-compatible PC; MS-DOS 3.1 or higher; minimum of 640K RAM; CD-ROM drive.
