Description: PCI on CD-ROM is available in two series; the first covers periodicals up to 1960 (over 2,200 periodicals); the second series covers the period 1961-1990. Each series is published in segments covering around 300 journals and 750,000 journal articles. In total PCI provides access to nearly eight million articles published in humanities and social science journals of both the English-speaking world in European languages. The tagging structure is compatible with MARC-based retrieval software. 8 segments are now available, with new segments added at a rate of 3 per year.

PCI is also accessible via the World Wide Web. It is available as an annual subscription in two editions; the complete PCI database covering journals from their first issue to 1990/91 or the most recent 30 years 1960/1-1990/91. Free trial access is currently available.

Requirements: PC running MS-DOS 3.3 or higher with CD-ROM drive or Internet connection with telnet client.
