Description: Marshall McLuhan came to prominence in the 1960s and '70s as 'guru of the electronic age', primarily due to his work Understanding Media. This CD-ROM provides a vehicle for illustrating and examining McLuhan's ideas and personality, particularly appropriate in the light of the recent developments in technology - the Internet, bulletin boards, and video-conferencing. It includes video footage of McLuhan, interviews with other key figures regarding his work, the complete text of two of his works, Understanding Media and The Gutenberg Galaxy, his 'probes' and bibliographies.
Requirements: Apple Macintosh with 5MB of free RAM (at least 8 MB installed) and CD-ROM drive (double-speed recommended); PC with 8 MB RAM and CD-ROM drive with sound card.
