Play By Mail Games

What's a PBM game? As the name implies, PBM games are played by mail (snail mail or email). The idea is simple, and pretty much independant of the type of game that you are playing. You, as the player, decide what you want to do and send your instructions to the guy running the game. He or she interprets your instructions in light of the rules of the game and the actions of the other players and writes back with the results. The process then starts again.

Some games are competitive and have a winner when someone meets a predefined set of victory conditions, whereas others can be open ended and allow your characters to develop their own destiny. There are games spanning pretty much every genre and taste.

DungeonWorld is a heroic single character fantasy game, run by Madhouse.
Star Fleet Warlord is a computer moderated space strategy game, based on the Star Fleet Battles universe.
Crasimoff's World is an open ended hand moderated fantasy role playing game.
