History

Throughout Arizona, particularly in the North, there is evidence that the area was settled a long time before Europeans arrived, and at least 15,000 years ago.

Geography

Arizona has California and Nevada to the west and north, Utah to the north and east and New Mexico to the west. Its southern border is with Mexico.

The landscape is varied and ranges from hot desert through green pasture and forest to the rocky scar of the Grand Canyon.

Place Attraction
Grand Canyon One of the most spectacular natural features in the world
Tombstone An old cowboy mining town, made famous by the Gunfight at the OK Corral. Very tourist oriented, but worth a visit.
The petrified forest   Huge, fossilised tree trunks in a barren landscape make this a very atmospheric place to visit.
