Arizona Iceland

History

An island in the North Atlantic between Europe and Greenland. It straddles an area of volcanic activity which gives rise to its unusual rock formations and active volcanoes and geysers.

Geography

The earliest vistors were Irish monks in the ninth century, but they were soon followed by permanent settlers from Norway.

Place Attraction
Reykjavik  One of the smallest captial cities in the world. Renowned for its nightlife.
Gullfoss The largest of many waterfalls in Iceland. The result of meltwater from Iceland's glaciers.
