Upper Egypt

Most of the big temples and tombs are in the south.

The Nile River There is actually 2 rivers that feed into the Nile; the Blue Nile and the White Nile. The size reminded me of the Mississippi - very big.

Edfu Temple

Queen Hatchepsut's Temple She was the first female pharaoh but she wore a ceremonial beard to look more pharoh-like. Pharaoh means god as well as king and after Alexander the Great liberated Egypt he became the last pharaoh. All those that followed were mere kings.

Tomb Painting The ancient Egyptians were very superstitious and had gods and ceremonies for everything. Many of the tomb paintings are pictures of these ceremonies to ensure afterlife.
