Lingbing grew up in Guangdong, a province on southern coast of China, but chose to move to Beijing for a better focus on study and research. He finished both my Bachelor and Master degrees at Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT) with Prof. Wantai Yang. After graduation, Lingbing enrolled at Oxford University as a DPhil student under the joint supervision by Prof. Ben G. Davis and Prof. Hagan Bayley. He is now working on an interdisciplinary project, aiming at elucidating the interactions between carbohydrates and membrane proteins in electrophysiology and further developing inhibitors. He is gradually expanding his research area from previous material/polymer science and surface science to organic synthesis, biochemistry, biology, biophysics, etc.
