Dr. Omar Boutureira studied at the Universitat Rovira I Virgili, Tarragona Catalonia (Spain) before moving to the BGD group. His research focuses on carbohydrate chemistry specifically the use of halogens and chalcogens for the development of imaging probes, and carbohydrate-based inhibitors. He also has an interest in chemical biology (new tools for protein modifications, and enzymatic reactions). Outside the lab he enjoys playing football and living life.
