London Marathon Article

As part of the deal of running for the stroke association in the London Marathon, they send out a press release to your local papers. My local, The Oxford Mail, got back in touch wanting to make an article out of attempts to run the marathon. Below is a copy of the text of the article. (The thumbnail links to a scanned-in version of the article - its may take a while to download)

Running for fund

News Highlights

A Research student whose father had a fatal stroke is running the London Marathon to raise money for studies into the condition.

Stu Wilkinson, 24, of Polstead Road, North Oxford, said that it was a complete shock when his father Denis died from a second attack

Mr Wilkinson has been training for April's event since Christmas and has pledged to raise £1000 for the Stroke Association, which funds research into the condition, as well as helping victims and their families.

The Wolfson college DPhil student said: "I do a lot of rowing for my college, so I suppose I am fitter than most. But I still need to train for the marathon."
