• • aims to build, assess, extend, develop VREs within and across subjects. Two phases (2004-2007; 2007-2009):
  • • Phase 1 included subject, institutional, and tools (15 projects)

    • • funding offered to 4 projects: humanities, archaeology, experiment workflow, event planning/capture.
      • Aim is embedding VRE within research community, building on lessons learnt from VRE 1.0
    • Phase 2.5 (tentative, for 07/08)
    • • redeploying tools from VRE 2.0 into different contexts
      • investigate issues about embedding VREs into institutions and linking with VLEs, library and admin systems

• e-Research call (April) seeking semantic web technologies for finding research resources; locating expertise/collaborations; bridging e-research and library science
