Presidential Address

Welcome back from your new president and welcome to the new committee. It may take us a while to get into the swing of things so bear with us!! Sorry about the rushed newsletter as well!

I hope everybody enjoyed their Easter holiday. The British Champs seemed to go really well, I haven't heard about BUSA, TW or JK yet but I'm sure every one who went had an excellent time even if we haven't come back with any pots like last year!

I must wish our retiring Pres. good luck in is finals and I'm glad to see the club is still going strong after his two thirds of a year in control!! I hope he isn't going to cop out of everything this term.

I think Club lunch will again be in the Christopher Cox room in New College at 1.00 as last term but I have yet to confirm the venue. I will let you know if anything changes.

As yet we haven't any dates for Socials arranged but I'm sure Alan & June will come up with some novel ideas. We will try and arrange a Punt-O, BBQ, picnic & Alc-O as last year cos they were really good!

Sunday's event is the Badge event at Epping. There is entry on the day and colour coded courses. Any one who wants to go must tell Jeremy by Saturday lunchtime at the latest. We are a bit short of numbers so if there is less than six we wont go. The bus will leave at 9.00 from Trinity Gates if it does go.

For those of you wanting to go on the tour, please confirm it with Jeremy who will hopefully know a bit more about what is happening now. The last two years have been excellent and I'm sure this one will be equally good so don't miss out on it.

The most important weekend of the term is the 20th/21st of May. This is when we are holding our annual event which, with a bit of luck, brings in lots of money to the club. It is being organised and planned by Phil and Dave respectively and we need as many people as possible helping out on Sunday on the start, finish, carparking etc. It isn't too much hard work if everybody helps out. Phil will certainly be looking for help from the old cronies amongst us who have had experience at putting on events.

Cuppers is on the Saturday at the moment and Simon has agreed to run it for us. He may want people to help for half an hour either side of their run depending on how many people turn up.

Training sessions have not been decided upon yet but they will run along similar lines to last term. If anyone wants to train and or take a run can they let Dave know so we can sort out times when everyone can make it.

I have included a preliminary fixture list with closing dates so if you want to go to any of these please sign down as early as possible.

If any one has any queries or suggestions, do get in touch. Good 'O'ing to you all!
