Can you help organise a UK trip for Italian rowers?

The Rowing Service

I received the following letter this spring. If anyone in the UK can help with it, could they kindly get in touch directly with the writer of the letter, via Sergio Morana by email, or to the Presidentof the club concerned directly. Please note that the "skift" probably means sculling, and that these trips often lead to reciprocal exchanges in the future - the Italian clubs are very hospitable! I reproduce the letter here with no changes....Your help is much appreciated. - Rachel Quarrell.

Dear Rachel,
I send you a message from the President of my club.
I'll be very grateful if you can help our project.
Many thanks from Sergio Morana

The "Società Canottieri Sampierdarenesi" is an old rowing club working in Genova - Italy.

Next summer the board of club directors would like to organize a holiday-course in England for boys from 12 to 16 years old.

The holiday-course is going to last a week and should take place in a college able to transfer the spirit of sound principles in competitions together with the respect of nature and let row (if possible in skift) as many hours as possible each day.

Nevertheless, it is our interest to take part to in an English course contracted on a few daily hours of lesson.

The chosen period is the end of July or beginning of August.

The indicative number of partecipants will be 10 pupils and 2 assistants.

Mr. Sergio Morana, member of regional F.I.C., supplied name your with many praises, thus I have allowed myself to disturb you to get all necessary information.

I would like to have advice with to respect the place and all logistic problems.

Finaly I would like to know the valutation of the necessary expense, also because the club will support in part.

Waiting for your news,

yours faithfully.

The PresidentGiuseppe Artini
