I have been given a program of general recuperation physiotherapy, and am in theearly post-surgery recovery stages of that, but I am anxious to do the right physiotheraputic rowing-specific exercises to enable me to make a full return to serious rowing and training at the end of September - ie next season.
I have been told to "not even think about rowing" for 6 weeks, which takes me toOctober, so could anyone who has experience of this, either as a fellow kneeproblem sufferrer, or as a physiotherapist or doctor, pleaseemail me with their experiences onthe recovery/rest period; exercises; whether erging would be a good or badrecovery exercise (once I can bear weight on it properly); what to do tomaintain or increase upper-body strength in the meantime, etc.
Touch wood, I'm getting the general advice, but I'm interested in those withrowing specific knowledge/experience...
Thank you very much.
