Dr Jeff Hand is Head of the Radiological Sciences Unit within the Department of Imaging, Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust and is Reader in Imaging Physics in Imperial College School of Medicine. He has worked in medical physics and bioengineering since 1976. He has published more than 140 papers in the fields of radiofrequency, microwave and ultrasound heating of tissues, novel methods of clinical thermometry, RF safety in MRI, and fibre-optic based temperature sensors and hydrophones for medical applications.
