Interesting/boring (delete as applicable) stuff here...
If you're yearning after those rubber keys and those wicked games, you need look no further...
Photos of modern (and not-so-modern) European aircraft and links to other aviation sites.
Interesting/boring stuff elsewhere...
We'll start off with links to old computers... emulate your old favourite and run
games at ludicrous speed! In addition, Marat Fayzullin is a
stupendously mighty emulator-writing type bloke, and
this page and
this page have some
links I haven't bothered with.
Now on to some stuff for those of you not into insanely playing Chuckie Egg on
your favourite old computer...
The only 68000-based machine worth using if you ask me... pah! to all you
filthy Mac/Amiga/QL types, such machines are only fit for the dustbin in
comparison to that most mighty of machines, the glorious ST!!
Of course, the reason for all the above vitriol is that I had (indeed, still have) an ST; a nice little 520
upgraded to 1Mb, a 48Mb hard disk (which I sold - fool that I am) and lots of
other bits and pieces, many of which I'd better not mention.
A great Z80-based machine. Didn't receive the recognition it deserved. In terms of graphics
and sound it walked all over most other computers of the time. The MSX2 gave the ST and Amiga a
run for their money!
Some FTP sites...
Another Z80-based machine. More colourful than the Spectrum but never as much fun in my opinion. Still a nice
little machine though...
Some FTP sites...
A machine with great sound, horrible blocky graphics, a pathetically slow version of Elite and no personality
whatsoever. There, that should get the hate mail coming...! My girlfriend's a Commie owner, but I am confident
in the superiority of the Speccy, and I'm bigger than her. (Oo-er)
Just about anyone who's had computer studies at school in the UK has wasted hours of time playing stuff
like Elite, Frak, Stryker, etc. on some sort of BBC machine. Pity no-one's done a decent PC-based emulator yet!
In fact, it's surprising how inactive the emulated BBC scene is. Stands back and awaits flaming...
I have to admit to not having had any contact with Dragons, except for laughing at them quite a bit back in
the '80s. So I've added these links, tried out some emulators during the summer... and still laugh at them..
