Visiting Lecturer, University of Texas at Austin, 1979-1980, where I was co-director of an interdepartmental faculty seminar on Greek iconography. This research was later supported with a Wolfson Foundation Grant, and by the Humanities Research Center of the University of Texas. (This work resulted in (M. Vickers, ed.): E.D. Francis, Image and Idea in Fifth Century Greece: Art and Literature after the Persian Wars [London, Routledge, 1990]).

Visiting Professor, Department of Classics, University of Colorado at Boulder, Spring Semester 2003. Archaeological Institute of America Kress Lecturer for 2002-2003 (speaking to the Ann Arbor, Central Michigan, Detroit, Toledo, Boulder, Denver, Tucson, Southern Nevada, Santa Fe, Baltimore, Staten Island, Northern New Jersey and St Louis AIA Chapters).
