Types of data in RSE RRI research
Interviews: RSEs, academics, project managers, funders, journal editors, users of research software, ethics committees (worth including the Ethics and Society Review board at Stanford). Also could do focus groups.
Questionnaires (e.g. SSI, RSE society etc. - note that their governance committees would be good to interview too!). Also to particular research disciplines, scientific/DH software user groups.
Scholarly literature. Conference presentations. Blogs/opinion pieces, e.g. society comms magazines, RSE group blogs.
News, including specialist news like New Scientist, BBC History Magazine etc.
My own reflectivity. Research journals/log books. Commit histories on research software projects. Issue trackers. Analysis of published software.
