2004 Details of Events

The Isis Sculls is organized by the City of Oxford Rowing Club under A.R.A. Rules. The course is 1850 m upstream on the Isis (the River Thames at Oxford), starting at the Bourne Stone and finishing at the Cox Stone (see map).

EVENTS: Entries will be accepted from all category of single and crew sculling boat as follows:

Juniors (J8 to J18, boys & girls): 1Sc, 2Sc, 4Sc, 4Sc+
Seniors (all statuses, men & women): 1Sc, 2Sc, 4Sc
Veterans (VA to VH, men & women): 1Sc, 2Sc, 4Sc

The course is suitable for young Juniors as it is accompanied by a towpath for its entire length. Racing will take place in 6 - 7 divisions at roughly 50-minute intervals. Doubling and trebling up is permitted.

PRIZES: Crew pennants, plus individual medals for categories with three or more entrants.

ENTRY FEES: £7.50 per seat (excl. coxswains) if received before the event together with completed A.R.A. forms,  £9.50 per seat otherwise; payable to City of Oxford R.C.

CONDITIONS: The Event is held under A.R.A. Rules of Racing. Competitors must present valid racing licences (or purchase day tickets) before racing numbers are issued. Doubling up and boat sharing will be permitted if notified in advance of the draw, though the Secretary reserves the right to scratch crews at any time if it compromises the racing schedule. The draw will be posted at http://i.am/corc.

ENTRIES: Entries will be accepted by telephone or email, though precedence will be given to postal entries submitted on A.R.A. forms and accompanied by cheques.
