OUSFG Hilary Termcard 2008

Sunday Library Meetings (except 3rd Week) are held from 8pm till late in the shared house inhabited by our Librarians near Botley Road. These evenings are an opportunity to socialise, and chat about life, the universe and everything, whilst also perusing and borrowing from OUSFG's library of over 2,400 books.

Discussion meetings usually on Wednesdays (see below for dates and topics) and Silly Games are held at 8pm in St Hilda's College Lady Brodie Room. This is in Hall Building, which is the first one you see directly opposite you as you go through the gates, and it's signposted as soon as you go into hall.

Wednesday video meetings (see below for programme) and Speaker Meeting start at 8pm in New College Lecture Room 4 - marked "C" on this map (or PDF). The 8th Week (5 March) Video Meeting will be in in New College Lecture Room 6 instead ("D" on the map).

16 Jan  Wednesday 1st Week Discussion Recommendations and Readings. Choose your favourite passages from books, and our Orator will read them aloud for all to enjoy (or you can read them yourself). No spoilers please, make sure that the pieces stand by themselves (with perhaps just a small introduction) and try not to do anything too long. But otherwise, choose widely! Striking openings are especially good. You are welcome to come and listen even if you don't bring any readings.

Shortly before the first ever World Expo, a marvelous invention called the "Steam Ball", behind which a menacing power is hidden, arrives at his door from his grandfather Lloyd in the U.S. Meanwhile the nefarious Ohara Foundation has sent men to acquire the Steam Ball so that they can use its power towards their own illicit ends.
