Membership for Individuals
Members of the Early English Text Society receive each year the editions published by the Society in the Ordinary Series for that year. Usually, there are two publications each year, though not always so. Individual members of the Society, but not institutions, who would prefer not to receive the new publications may instead substitute any past volumes from the Society's list which are currently in print up to the value of £60.00 or $120, depending which currency one has paid the subscription in. (Each new year's subscription accrues a new credit against the back-list.) Members also receive a copy of the Society's brief annual report. Very occasionally, extra books are published in the Supplementary Series; those volumes are not sent to members in return for their annual subscription but they are available to members at a reduced pre-publication price; a notice about each volume is sent to members in advance of publication.
The subscription to the Society is £30.00 or US$60.00. Individual members can pay subscriptions by PayPal, from links on this webpage, by a cheque in pounds sterling made out to 'The Early English Text Society', and sent to the Membership Secretary, or by bank transfer. Please use the PayPal buttons and the forms below.
Payment by PayPal
The easiest way for individuals to pay their subscription is by PayPal using the buttons on this page. You can sign up to pay a subscription annually or just this once. PayPal will allow you to pay using your credit or debit card, or to pay with your own PayPal account, should you have one. PayPal gives you the opportunity to specify a separate 'dispatch address', if you would like your books posted to an address different from that of your registered credit card or PayPal account. Please do remember to specify which address to use.
If you wish to pay a recurring annual subscription on the same date each year, please use one of these two buttons, in pounds sterling or in US dollars. This payment will continue annually until you cancel it. Please do check whether you have already set up a recurring subscription. When you log into PayPal, it should show any such payment as scheduled.

Those paying by PayPal who wish to take the year’s two new publications need do nothing more; their name and ‘despatch’ address will be passed electronically to the Membership Secretary by PayPal. Those paying by PayPal who wish to make substitutions must in addition use the Payment Form for individuals as explained below or in the Instructions.
Payment by cheque
Individuals may pay their subscription by a cheque made payable to the Early English Text Society along with the Payment Form for individuals to the Membership Secretary, Dr Daniel Orton, by post c/o EETS, Faculty of English, St Cross Bldg, Manor Rd, Oxford, OX1 3UL, England.
Payment by bank transfer
Individuals who wish to set up a bank transfer should use the Payment Form for individuals as explained in the Instructions.
Substitutions and discounts
No matter which method of payment you use, if you choose to substitute one of the past volumes from the Society's list for one or both of this year's publications, you must specify which volumes you would like to choose on the Payment Form for individuals, as explained in the Instructions, and send it to the Membership Secretary, Dr Daniel Orton, by post c/o Faculty of English, St Cross Bldg, Manor Rd, Oxford, OX1 3UL, England, or by email to eets@ell.ox.ac.uk. The value of such texts allowed against one subscription is £60.00 or US$120, depending which currency one has paid the subscription in. If the value of your substitutions exceeds your allowance, you can make an additional separate payment by PayPal, following these guidelines, cheque or bank transfer.
In addition, all members of the Society may also purchase copies of earlier publications at a discount of 30 per cent. All such orders must be made on the order form for books at a discount and sent to the Membership Secretary, Dr Daniel Orton, by post c/o EETS, Faculty of English, St Cross Bldg, Manor Rd, Oxford, OX1 3UL, England, or by email to eets@ell.ox.ac.uk.
Details of the books, the cost of membership, and its privileges are revised from time to time. The prices of books are subject to alteration without notice.
Membership for Institutions
Institutions should set up subscriptions solely using the Payment Form for instititutions, which details methods of payment. The Membership Secretary can also provide an invoice, if required.
