Doctoral Research

My research focuses particularly on the syntax of Cymraeg/Welsh, and what this can reveal about interfaces between syntax and other modules of language. For my thesis, I am continuing the research I began for my MPhil thesis, in which I provided an LFG analysis of the agreement between index agreement targets (such as verbs and prepositions) and their weak or 'dependent' pronoun subjecs/objects/possessors, and the non-agreement of nouns and strong or 'independent' pronouns in these positions.

My supervisors are Dr Louise Mycock and Prof. David Willis.
