Partners Networking Event

A networking event for the partners and supervisors of the DTP was held on 16th May 2014.  Representatives from almost all our founding partners were able to attend, along with some newer organisations that were invited to come and see whether joining our list of partners might be of interest.

New Procedure for Multiple Applications

Graduate Admissions has announced a new process to enable applicants to DTPs and CDTs to make additional applications for related programmes of study without the need to pay additional application fees.  Applicants can apply to up to three such programmes and only pay one application fee.  A seperate form must be completed for each application but as long as applicants contact Graduate Admissions to apply for a fee waiver, only the first form will be charged at £50.  Applications to unrelated programmes of study will still attract multiple application fees.

Christmas Closure Dates 2013

The DTP office will be closed from Thursday 19th December to Tuesday 7th January when it re-opens. The Administrator will not be available to answer questions during this time.

Funding Confirmed by NERC

On 4th November 2013 it was confirmed by David Willets the Minister of State for Universities and Science at a special event hosted by NERC, that the Oxford bid for a DTP in Environmental Reseach had been successful.  Oxford will receive funding for 24 places per year over the next five years.  These places will be supplemented by internal funding so that we hope to be able to recruit up to 30 fully funded students per year, some of them overseas.

Course Director Appointed

We are delighted to welcome Dr Elizabeth Jeffers, a James Martin fellow at the Biodiversity Institute, as the Course Director for the DTP.  Elizabeth is based in the Department of Zoology and investigates how, and why ecosystems respond to environmental change.  She is already  cross-divisional as she teaches an MSc elective course in the School of Geography and the Environment.

Course Director Vacancy Advertised
