Visiting the College

Reaching The Queen's College is easiest by bus, as a large number of services stop outside the main entrance. We recommend you either drive to the Park and Ride or use a coach service. The No. 400 Park and Ride, Oxford Tube, X90 and Heathrow coaches all stop outside the front of the College.

A frequent direct train service operates from London Paddington to Oxford (approximately every 30 minutes) and from Birmingham New Street via Banbury and Coventry. The line to Didcot allows access to Radley, Appleford, Swindon, and Reading. There is also a regular service between Oxford Parkway (station opened in October 2015 at Water Eaton Park & Ride, near Kidlington) and London Marylebone via Bicester. The Cotswold Line runs through Oxford to Long Hanborough, Finstock, Charlbury, Ascott-under-Wychwood, and on to Worcester. The line to Leamington Spa services villages to the north, such as Tackley and Lower Heyford as well as Banbury.

You can walk to the College from the station in approximately 20 minutes, or take a bus or taxi.

The M40, M4 and A34 provide easy access by car from London, leaving the M40 at Junction 8. The M40 links Birmingham to Oxford from the north, leaving at Junction 9.

There is no parking available at the College due to its central location on the High Street. The city’s Park and Ride service is the easiest way to get into Oxford by car. There are five park and ride sites located around Oxford's ring road, with regular bus services to the city centre, the No. 400 stops outside the entrance to the College.

Just as it pioneered the first ever park and ride scheme, Oxford now has the world's first zero emissions zone. Plans are in place to start phasing out polluting vehicles including taxis, cars, and buses from the city centre area and the zero emissions pilot is in place from February 2022.
