Dan Hudson MBiochem Msc

DPhil candidate, Oxford BBSRC Doctoral Training Programme

Welcome to my Oxford University webpage.

I am a DPhil candidate on the BBSRC Interdisciplinary Bioscience Doctoral Training Programme, returning to Oxford after ten years working at GlaxoSmithKline. I held a number of managerial positions during my time at GSK, including stints as country manager for Madagascar (2014-16) and in business development for vaccines R&D (2017-21).

Inspired by a recent MSc in Artificial Intelligence at Queen Mary and encouraged by the enormous potential of AI in biotechnology discovery, I decided to return to research in 2021. This latest challenge allows me to combine early undergraduate training as a biochemist (Oriel College, 2006-8) with postgraduate studies in immunology (Davis Group, WIMM 2009) and machine learning (Vision Group, QMUL 2018-20).

My particular interests lie at the intersection of machine learning and T cell biology, specifically in the development of predictive algorithms for improved T cell therapeutics.
