Welcome

As a systematic and historical theologian I am fascinated by delving into the thoughts and mindsets of various epochs. I am researching the history, return, and re-appropriation of theological and philosophical ideas in new contexts and different times. I am particularly interested in the history of thought of Scholastic theology and philosophy. My previous studies explored the reception of Greek and Scholastic metaphysics in Protestant theology during the 19th and 20th centuries. For decades I have investigated the continuation of monasticism during the Lutheran Reformation and in Lutheranism. As a Marie Curie fellow, I looked into the potential of theological and philosophical ideas to connect with modern scientific approaches to natural belief in the Cognitive Science of Religion (CSR). My current research traces Scholastic ideas and sources in late medieval Armenian texts and thus explores a unique synthesis of Western and Eastern thought.
