Yiqun Geng
Postdoc

Yiqun completed her B.Sc in Pharmaceutical Sciences and her Ph.D in Chemical Biology at Peking University, China. After getting the interdisciplinary training on medicine, pharmacy and pharmacology and medicinal chemistry from her undergraduate studies, she chose carbohydrates chemistry as her graduate research topic. In her Ph. D thesis, she mainly worked on new glycosylation methodology developments for oligosaccharide synthesis based on pre-activation strategy under the supervision of Professor Xin-Shan Ye and won PKU Academic Innovation Award, PKU Kwang-Hua Scholarship, Poster Award at the 11th Tetrahedron Symposium and State Natural Science Awards (SNSA) second-class, China. She did her postdoc research with Professor Richard R. Schmidt at University of Konstanz, Germany and mainly worked on irreversible glucosidase inhibitors, acid-base catalysis as a new concept in chemical glycosylations, regio- and stereo-control in carbohydrate chemistry. Her publication list can be seen at https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Yiqun_Geng2/publications. Currently she is a postdoc research associate with Professor Ben Davis at University of Oxford, working on small molecule tools to modulate plant biology, as well as chemokine protein probes for imaging.
