10am - 4.30pm, 14th July 1999
Computer Classroom CG66, Courtyard Building, Science Site, Stockton Road, University of Durham
Registration will be in the Birley Room, (Dawson 205), Department of Archaeology, Dawson Building, Stockton Road.
This one-day workshop aims to raise awareness of the impact C&IT can have on teaching and learning in the arts and humanities disciplines. The workshop is being organised by the CTI Centres for Art & Design, Music, and Textual Studies with support from the University of Durham's Information Technology Service. The workshop is free of charge and open to members of teaching and teaching-support staff at HE institutions within the North-East of England. The day will consist of a mixture of presentations, hands-on sessions, and demonstrations. Participants will be introduced to a range of software and to a range of services and projects which support teaching and learning in the arts & humanities. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the incentives, barriers, and solutions to using C&IT in their own teaching and explore models for the evaluation of digital resources. A particular focus of the workshop will be on the possibilities offered by tools and techniques for online collaboration.
