How effective is it for fitness ?

We regard improving fitness as an essential part of martial arts training - all the skill in the world is useless if your body is unable to apply it. Fortunately practising our techniques is an excellent way of getting fit in itself! The movements involved use all of the human muscles and energy systems, giving the fitness benefits of yoga, aerobics, gymnastics and boxing training in a single package.

Regular practise will result in lithe muscles capable of sustaining high performances under a variety of loads - and as you improve, the techniques get more energetic, so that with our help you'll reach levels of power and agility far beyond your present capacity. Most people find the sessions fun, and because you're always learning the exercise happens naturally without getting boring.

We're very aware of the very different levels of fitness people have when they first start training so everything begins gradually - the rate at which you improve is up to you - we believe in encouraging growth rather than belittling initial ability.
