That’s right – we’re watching the first eight episodes of Jodie’s first series on the BIG SCREEN! You probably won’t have been to WhoSoc before, but fear not – this is the perfect hopping-on point. Whether you plan to attend our Thursday meetings or not, you’re very welcome to come along and join us for what’s shaping up to be spectacular series. Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter feeds to find a confirmation of the time and location. Then there’ll be a short break if you need to head off early, and after that we’ll watch Series 11 opener The Woman Who Fell to Earth – an important screening whether you’re watching it for the first time or the 13th! Steven Moffat RANDOMIZER!!
Steven Moffat – head writer of both Matt Smith’s and Peter Capaldi’s eras – is quite divisive among the fandom (and quite wonderful too). So we’re going to RANDOMIZE HIM! There are stories spread across the 2010-2017 era that we never get to watch at WhoSoc, because there are never enough weeks in the Oxford year. So when we arrive this Thursday, we’re going to hold a random draw of one Smith and one Capaldi episode to watch. We think it will be exciting to arrive at WhoSoc without any preconceived notions of what we’re about to watch and hope the results will be very fun!

The same evening, we'll be having our termly members' meal with Simon at one of Oxford's many restaurants (as yet undecided) - if you would like to come along to that and are not yet a member of the society, you can purchase a membership (£5 for a year, £15 for life) from us on the day. More details to follow in the email newsletter. The speaker event from 8pm is free for anyone to attend.

Earthshock and Committee Meeting
How on Earth have we made it through the term without watching anything from the 1980s? One of the most highly-acclaimed Fifth Doctor stories is Earthshock – a very significant story in two major ways that, if you don’t yet know what they are – we don’t want to spoil the surprise for you! Come and get Earth-shook with us and celebrate an amazing term at WhoSoc as we watch this 1982 adventure.

All are welcome to stick around for the committee meeting afterwards to have your say in what we do next term.
