Hilary Term 2017

1st Week Thursday 19th January, 8pm

Seminar Room, Corpus Christi
The Eleventh Doctor The Tenth Doctor
Voyage of the Damnned and A Christmas Carol
Join us as we travel back in time to Christmas past as we start the term with a festive double bill! Especially for you, we have Voyage of the Damned, where after a collision between the TARDIS and the Titanic, the Tenth Doctor and Astrid (Kyle Minogue) are spinning around to prevent an imminent collision with Earth. In A Christmas Carol, we see the Eleventh Doctor try to add some kindness and happiness to the miserly Kazran Sardick.
2nd Week Thursday 26th January, 8pm

Seminar Room, Corpus Christi
The Second Doctor
The Power of the Daleks
Previously lost forever and now back in the form of an animated reconstruction, The Power of the Daleks is the first full story to feature the Second Doctor. A classic Doctor vs Dalek story, it should be a good watch.
3rd Week Thursday 2nd February, 8pm

Seminar Room, Corpus Christi
The Fourth Doctor
The Robots of Death
A Fourth Doctor story inspired by the works of Agatha Christie, the Doctor and Leela face the task of finding out who is responsible for the mysterious deaths on a sandminer vehicle.
4th Week Thursday 9th February, 8pm

Seminar Room, Corpus Christi
The Twelfth Doctor The First Doctor
The Edge of Destruction and Heaven Sent
Beat the Fourth Week Blues and being trapped in work by watching two episodes involving the Doctor being trapped in sticky situations. In The Edge of Destruction, the First Doctor, Susan, Ian, and Barbara are trapped in the TARDIS when it is taken over by an outside force. In Heaven Sent, the Twelfth Doctor is trapped in a castle and is being pursued by a shrouded creature that is trying to kill him.
5th Week Thursday 16th February, 7:45pm

Lecture Theatre, Green Templeton College
The Geek Quiz
In the legendary Geek Quiz, members of Oxford's geekiest societies get together in order to battle it out for the crown of "team who won that term". If you can write a round not entirely related to Doctor Who, bring it along. If you wish to go in Cosplay or society representative clothing, please do so.
6th Week Thursday 23rd February, 8pm

Seminar Room, Corpus Christi
The Sixth Doctor
Blake's 7 and Committee Elections
Join us as we watch an episode of the British sci-fi show, Blake’s 7 in order to branch out in the sci-fi world. Tonight we will be watching the pilot, but in later episodes, there is an appearance from Colin Baker.
7th Week Thursday 2nd March, 8pm

Atomic Burger
WhoSoc Termly Meal
It’s 7th week, you’ve nearly made it to the end of term, so why not come to our termly meal to celebrate? No fish fingers and custard, I’m afraid, but it will be fun night with tasty food all the same.
Saturday 4th March, 12pm

Seminar Room, Corpus Christi
The Sarah Jane Adventures Marathon
To celebrate ten years of The Sarah Jane Adventures (do you feel old yet?), we will be watching a variety of our favourite episodes. Suggestions so far include 'The Wedding of Sarah Jane Smith', 'Death of the Doctor' and 'The Curse of Clyde Langer'.
8th Week Thursday 9th March, 8pm

Seminar Room, Corpus Christi
The Fifth Doctor
Mawdryn Undead (and Committee Meeting)
8th Week is 80s Week! In a story featuring the Fifth Doctor, his companions are separated from him in time, but not space. He also has to deal with a schoolboy by the name of Turlough, who is taught by the Brigadier, who curiously cannot remember the Doctor at all. Enjoy the campness and hilarity, and don’t forget your jelly babies! Join us afterwards for the committee meeting to have your say in what we do next term.
