The Advanced ECDL Databases module builds on a user's basic competence in widely used software applications and equips them with expert skills.

What does the Databases module cover?

This module is aimed at individuals who need to use any of the widely available database packages to create databases and manage the data within them. The content covers importing and exporting data, linking data, editing, layout, macros and special tools, and includes:

Designing and using tables
understanding how to create a database and the importance of the relationships between tables
Designing and using queries
to update, save or delete data in a table, and to group information and perform functions, such as sum, count, average, max and min
Designing and using forms
including bound and unbound controls, combo boxes, list boxes, check boxes, arithmetic and logical expression controls, and other options
Designing and producing reports
using calculations, formulas and expressions, and presentation formats
Importing, exporting and linking data
manage data links to and from external data sources
Creating macros
to automate frequently used processes to raise productivity and ensure consistency

Advanced ECDL Databases at OUCS

OUCS will send your employees courseware in advance, enabling them to prepare for the intensive training/testing day by working through practice exercises (using example computer files).

They will sit two practice exams on the training/testing day, assisted by OUCS trainers who will work through any issues with them before they take the actual examination.
